Manager:
Randy Patterson, ARRT
Randy brings to CCI OPEN MRI many years of technical and managerial
experience. He has worked at many coast facilities, including
Hancock Medical Center, Garden Park Hospital, and Memorial Hospital
at Gulfport. Randy served as the Director of Radiology at Hancock
Medical Center 2001-2003.
Technologist:
Frank Downey, ARRT
Frank served as Director of Radiology at Garden Park Hospital
1973- 1999. He has worked both in the hospital and physician office
environment and has extensive experience in outpatient services.
Receptionist/
Clerical: Leslie Miller
Leslie is a native of Leavenworth, KS and has lived on the Gulf
Coast for 9 1/2 years. She previously worked at Memorial Hospital
at Gulfport prior to embarking upon independent transcription
services.
MEET OUR MEDICAL DIRECTORS:
Frank
A. Lovell, M.D.
Dr. Lovell is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi
and the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He served
his residency at the University Hospital in Jackson and completed
a neuroradiology fellowship at the University of Alabama Birmingham.
He has board certification and a certificate of added qualification
in neuroradiology by the American Board of Radiology. He joined
SMB Radiology, P.A. in 1995. He is the Medical Director of CCI
Open MRI.
Eric
Lawson, M.D.
Dr. Lawson joined SMB Radiology, P.A. in 1999 after completing
a vascular and interventional radiology fellowship at the University
Medical Center/ St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. He attended Lamar
University and the University of Texas San Antonio School of Medicine.
His residency training was performed at the University of South
Alabama. He is the Assistant Medical Director of CCI Open MRI.

will use the services of SMB Radiology, P.A., the oldest and most
respected radiology group in this area. SMB Radiology, P.A. is
proud to provide radiological services to Memorial Hospital at
Gulfport, Garden Park Medical Center, and the Gulfport OB-GYN
clinic. Besides Drs. Lovell and Lawson, the radiologists of SMB

Hoshall
Barrett, M.D.
Dr. Barrett joined SMB Radiology, P.A. in 1975. He is a graduate
of the University of Tennessee School of Medicine. He performed
his internship at the University of California, San Diego and
completed residency and fellowship at the Charity Hospital of
New Orleans. He has board certification by the American Board
of Radiology. He currently serves as Medical Director of Radiology
at Garden Park Medical Center and is the President of SMB Radiology,
P.A.
Laura
Justice, M.D.
Dr. Justice attended the University of Mississippi and University
of Mississippi School of Medicine. She completed her internship
and residency training at the University Hospital, Jackson, MS.
She has been associated with SMB Radiology, P.A. since 1981. She
is certified by the American Board of Radiology and has served
as Medical Director of Radiology at Hancock Medical Center. She
serves as the Secretary-Treasurer of SMB Radiology, P.A.
Raymond
Tipton, M.D.
Dr. Tipton is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and
the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He completed
his internship at the University of South Alabama, residency at
the University Medical Center in Jackson, and fellowship in vascular
and interventional radiology at the University of New Mexico.
He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology. He joined
SMB Radiology, P.A. in 1984 and currently serves as Vice-President.
Michael
Diaz, M.D.
Dr. Diaz has been associated with SMB Radiology, P.A. since 1994
after completing service with the United States Air Force. He
is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and the
Tulane University School of Medicine. He completed an internship
at the USAF Medical Center Keesler and residency training at Wilford
Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio. He is a past Chief of
Staff at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport and currently serves as
the Medical Director of Radiology at that facility. He has board
certification and a certificate of added qualification in vascular
and interventional radiology by the American Board of Radiology.
Milton
Raines, M.D.
Dr. Raines is a graduate of the University of Alabama and the
Medical College of Alabama. He completed his internship at St.
Vincent’s hospital in Birmingham. He performed residency
training at the University of Alabama Birmingham and at the David
Grant USAF Medical Center. He served in the United States Air
Force. He practiced in Meridian, MS prior to joining SMB Radiology
in 2000.
Barbara
Massony, M.D.
Dr. Massony has been associated with SMB Radiology, P.A. since
1994. She is a graduate of the LSU School of Medicine and completed
internship and residency training at the Charity Hospital of New
Orleans. She worked at Touro Infirmary for a number of years and
was a staff radiologist at the LSU School of Medicine prior to
relocating to the Gulf Coast. She has certification with the American
Board of Radiology.
James
Keating, M.D.
Dr. Keating is the newest member of the SMB family, arriving the
summer of 2006. He graduated from the Tulane University School
of Medicine and completed internship training at Roanoke (Virginia)
Memorial Hospital. His residency was completed at the University
of Vermont and he completed fellowship training in neuroradiology
at the University of Washington. He has been on staff at multiple
hospitals in the New Orleans area and worked at Keesler Medical
Center prior to Hurricane Katrina. He is board certified by the
American Board of Radiology.
